The crisis rocking the All Progressive Congress (APC) took a scary turn on Thursday as hoodlums set fire to the office of the party in Kano.
The razed edifice is the campaign office of Barau Jibrin, the senator representing Kano North senatorial district at the red chamber.
Jibrin is a key member of the party and a respected member of Kano APC faction loyal to Ibrahim Shekarau, former governor of the state.
The affected building is a rendez-vous and the meeting point of the faction.
Armed thugs invaded the building, vandalised it, and proceeded to set it ablaze, TheCable quoted an eyewitness to have said.

The arsonists are believed to be members of the faction loyal to Abdullahi Ganduje, governor of Kano.
What spurred the action of the rampaging hoodlums is unclear but the two factions have been having a go at each other for some time.

Matters came to head and frustration boiled over after parallel congresses were held by both factions on October 18.
The Shekarau faction had elected Haruna Danzago as chairman while Ganduje’s camp elected Abdullahi Abbas.
An appeal committee set up by the national caretaker committee recognised the faction loyal to Ganduje.
The Shekarau faction has since instituted a legal action contesting the decision of the national caretaker committee.
The faction also asked the court to cancel the congresses at wards, LGAs, and state levels.
Meanwhile, the police have sealed the residence of Barau Jibrin shortly after his campaign office was set ablaze.
